Completed in 1938, Kaisaniemenkatu 2b is a significant part of Helsinki’s film history. Since its completion, the building has served as a commercial property, with early tenants including the Bio Metropol cinema. Bio Metropol was part of Helsinki’s vibrant film culture, and its history spans numerous changes over the decades. The cinema later became known as Boston and Formia before eventually becoming Finnkino’s Kinopalatsi.
Today, Kaisaniemenkatu 2b functions as a modern office and commercial property. Located next to Railway Square and directly above the University of Helsinki metro station, the building enjoys excellent public transport connections throughout the Helsinki metropolitan area.
