When everyday tasks run smoothly, business picks up – 24 Pesula found premises in the heart of Helsinki that support its day-to-day operations

In the everyday lives of entrepreneurs and small businesses, every hour is valuable. Therefore, the working environment, central location and the services provided by the premises are surprisingly important for the smooth running of the company. When services that support day-to-day operations are readily available and workspaces are designed for practical needs, time and energy are freed up for the business itself.

When 24 Pesula transferred its office to the Fennia building, the move was not just about a new address, but about relocating to premises that support the smooth running of day-to-day work. The company wanted to find a work environment where a central location and easily accessible services make the working day easier. 24 Pesula, which runs a nationwide network of almost 80 self-service laundries aimed at consumers, operates in a fast-paced daily environment where even small changes that help things run more smoothly make a difference.

“In addition to the premises, the excellent location in the heart of the city strongly supports our day-to-day work and growth”, says 24 Pesula’s CEO Jaana Tarkki.

24 Pesula’s new office is located in the heart of Helsinki in premises where its everyday tasks do not depend solely on its own resources. The property’s comprehensive services make tasks run more smoothly and free up time for what matters. The Fennia building houses the popular Ruoka & Mat restaurant complex, versatile meeting spaces, after-work venues and leisure experiences from cinema to casino entertainment under one roof. In addition, the location offers the best public transport connections and plenty of parking space.

“The smooth running of everyday life is especially evident in the fact that we do not have to do everything ourselves, and so we do not waste time. Our company’s head office and production facilities are located in Nokia, near Tampere. We used to have a small office in Pasila, Helsinki, with room for only two people to work. When I started at the company, we knew that more people would be recruited, especially in the Helsinki metropolitan area. This meant that larger and more suitable premises were needed in Helsinki,” says 24 Pesula’s CEO Jaana Tarkki.

The smooth running of everyday life is especially evident in the fact that we don’t have to do everything ourselves or waste time.

The search for new premises began in the autumn of 2025, and a solution that suited the company’s needs was found in the Fennia block. The company has been operating in the block since last November, and according to Tarkki, the premises have met their needs, supporting both everyday work and the company’s growth goals.

“From the customer’s perspective, the whole process was smooth and the move did not cause any additional stress, which made the experience particularly positive,” Tarkki says.

The location in the heart of the city plays a crucial role

The company reviewed about ten different premises in the heart of Helsinki before making the final decision. The search criteria emphasised excellent transport connections, specially the proximity of Helsinki Railway Station.

The central location has proven to be a great advantage for 24 Pesula.

“The proximity of the railway station was crucial for us, as it was essential to ensure that those arriving from elsewhere in Finland could reach our office as easily as possible by train, without the need to continue further by a bus, for example. Even the airport is accessible directly by train, and for many the office is within walking distance of home,” Tarkki says.

Most of the company’s staff still work in Nokia, where product development, production and most of the maintenance team are based. The company’s day-to-day operations also require the staff to move around within the Helsinki metropolitan area, for example, between different laundrettes or when looking for new business premises.

“Here, too, the central location has proven to be a great advantage. Traveling by metro is quick and effortless, and we can reach many destinations almost entirely without taking a step outdoors. Especially in the winter, this has been useful,” Tarkki says.

Natural interaction increased with the move

The biggest change in the new premises is that everyone in Helsinki now works under the same roof. This has been a significant improvement, especially from the perspective of corporate culture and a sense of community, as we are together in the same place and interaction is natural.

“The shared office has clearly increased interaction between employees. Working in the same space naturally increases discussions between people, and informal encounters at lunches and coffee breaks also strengthen the sense of community. The personnel of our Nokia office also visit the Helsinki office regularly, and the feedback has been very positive. The clean, modern environment makes a good impression,” explains Tarkki.

The interior design, freshness and functionality of the premises have been given positive feedback, and the spaces meet the company’s everyday needs well. The facilities also support the company’s brand and growth. Several new employees have been recruited, and it is important that new employees and visitors can be welcomed in clean, branded spaces that give a professional image of the company.

The amount of remote work has decreased, as it is really nice and easy to come to the office.

“I used to work remotely a lot, but with the new facilities, my everyday life has clearly changed. We now have a comfortable, ergonomic and functional working environment that encourages people to come to the office and supports productive working. The renovation of the office and the finishing touches to the premises have made our working environment a very pleasant place to work.”

Services in-house and in the vicinity save time and unnecessary hassle

The Fennia block’s renovated joint meeting rooms were taken into use in January 2026. Tarkki says that the company makes use of the modern and comfortable meeting rooms several times a month in a flexible manner.

“The facilities themselves are comfortable and presentable, which has also made it possible to welcome guests in a whole new way. In the previous premises, this was not practically possible, but we now have our own meeting room, and in addition, the building has larger conference rooms for tenants to use. These have, for example, been used for board meetings where there are more participants. This has been a very functional solution for us.”

24 Pesula also utilises the larger conference rooms available to the building’s tenants.

The benefits brought by the central location are also evident in everyday life as versatile services. Numerous lunch spots, grocery stores and other services are available in the same building and in the Fennia block. Everyday purchases are easy to take care of, for example, during a lunch break or at the end of a working day. Everything that is needed is nearby.

“You can get a bite to eat for lunch quickly and easily without even having to put on a jacket. Day-to-day operations are also made easier by excellent cycling opportunities. The property has good bicycle storage and shower facilities in the basement, and bicycles can also be kept in the courtyard. This makes commuting an attractive option for us. The amount of remote work has decreased now that the office is genuinely comfortable and easy to get to,” says Tarkki.

According to her, collaboration with Sponda regarding the move and space arrangements proceeded very well. Right from the outset, the process ran effortlessly, from the presentation of the premises to the move.

“Everything went as agreed and according to plan. From our point of view as the customer, the whole process was smooth and did not cause additional stress, which made the experience especially positive,” says Tarkki.

“For us, the most important thing is a functional space where the whole team can work together under the same roof. It strengthens the sense of community and corporate culture in a completely different way.”

Sponda’s properties offer a wide range of services for the needs of companies of all sizes

In addition to the Fennia block, comprehensive services in a central location are also available in the Fabian 21 office building in the centre of Helsinki and in the Citycenter Offices complex above the shopping centre Citycenter. Both offer different space options for the needs of companies of all sizes.

Fabian 21 is located in the heart of the Kaartinkaupunki business centre. This property is close to the seafront, parks and the Old Market Hall as well as the area’s boutique hotels and premium restaurants. Fabian 21’s versatile services, such as lobby service, gym, a variety of restaurants, a wide selection of meeting rooms and an auditorium, as well as event management, are a key selection criterion for many companies.

Citycenter Offices, situatedin the most central location in the heart of Helsinki, provides a wide range of cafés and restaurants, health services, a gym and versatile grocery and speciality-store options offered by the shopping centre located under the same roof. The central location opposite Helsinki Railway Station guarantees excellent public transport connections and seamless access to the nearby car parks.
