Sponda to meet startups at Slush’s ReCoTech event

Slush’s official side event ReCoTech brings construction and property sector together with startups. Sponda is looking for new ideas and partnerships.

Veterans of the property and construction sector encounter newcomers of the digital age at Slush’s official side event ReCoTech on 30 November at Messukeskus in Helsinki. ReCoTech is an event organised in co-operation by actors in the construction and property sector.

The purpose is to forge new partnerships and create new ideas by bringing together property sector leaders and startups. Sponda is one of the main partners of the event.

Fast forward with digitalisation

The central focus of the event diving into the future of built environment is especially in promoting digitalisation in the construction and property sector and finding new opportunities presented by it. “Like other industries, the property sector is undergoing a fast-paced transformation because of digitalisation and the change in working life. We at Sponda want to be at the spearhead of that transformation. We hope to find new partnerships and ideas from ReCoTech for supporting our customers’ success with our business premises,” tells Pia Arrhenius, Senior Vice President, Corporate Planning at Sponda.

50 startups and nearly 30 property sector leaders have signed up for the event. The event’s breakfast seminar includes discussion about the future of the construction and property sector, a panel discussion deals with the topics of digitalisation and the transformation of working life and, finally, the Speed Meets give a chance for startups to meet the decision-makers of large corporations and pitch their business ideas to industry leaders.

New ideas from Speed Meets

In addition to the panel discussion, Sponda will participate in the Speed Meets. Startups have already booked all of Sponda’s available slots. Arrhenius is expecting to see new, useable ideas at the Speed Meets: “Very interesting new business ideas and brave companies have emerged in the sector in the past few years. I hope we will find startups from ReCoTech with who we could take the next step towards building business premises of the future together as partners.”

ReCoTech is jointly organised by RAKLI, Green Building Council Finland, HESA-SAFA, KIRA-digi and RICS. In addition to Sponda, the partners include Granlund, Newsec, Fira, Ramboll and Senate Properties.
