Sponda divested a newly developed commercial property in Helsinki Metropolitan Area

Sponda, one of Finland’s leading real estate asset management company has sold a newly developed commercial property at Väritehtaankatu 8 in the Tikkurila district of Vantaa to funds managed by eQ Plc.

The modern 13,600 sqm office and retail property was completed in two phases in 2018 and 2021 and is almost fully leased. The anchor tenant, Mehiläinen will move to the new extension by the end of January 2022. Other main tenants in the property are Lehto Group, Etelä-Suomen Media and Forenom.

A direct connection to one of the busiest train stations and commuter hubs in Finland, the Tikkurila train station, and to the Dixi shopping centre, brings a natural flow of customers to the property and offers excellent connections to the airport and Helsinki CBD.

The new building is designed to meet the highest requirements of the LEED environmental certification. It also showcases numerous solutions that promote environmental friendliness and energy efficiency, such as intelligent measuring and control systems, and solar panels that were installed on the roof in October. The general electricity of the property is produced with 100% wind power.
