Lidl to open a store in Citycenter

Citycenter’s offering will become even more diversified as Lidl will open a
store in the shopping centre in spring 2017. The area of the store is 1,400
square metres.

Citycenter, owned by Sponda, is located in Helsinki city centre. The shopping
centre has annually around 12 million visitors. For Citycenter, Lidl is a
significant actor that strengthens the shopping centre’s offering of daily
groceries.

“We are happy to provide a more extensive offering of grocery stores to our
customers with the Lidl brand. Thanks to its location, the new store is easily
accessible for thousands of our daily customers, conveniently on their way to
work or home,” says Shopping Centre Manager Tiina Fågel.

“People have been expecting and hoping there would be another Lidl store in the
centre of Helsinki. Citycenter’s Lidl gives us a chance to complement our store
network according to our customers’ wishes. The store will be built in line
with the new, stylish Lidl image, and we offer a pleasant customer experience
and a diverse selection of goods with the best possible price/quality ratio,”
says Virpi Kaikkonen, Director of Properties and Development at Lidl Finland.
